해외 보안업체 Lavasoft사의 Ad-Aware 제품의 신버전이 2009년 8월 25일에 발표된다는 소식입니다.
국내에 처음 해당 프로그램이 소개될 때만하여도 애드웨어(Adware), 스파이웨어(Spyware) 전용 치료 프로그램이었지만, 현재는 트로이목마(Trojan) 등 다양한 악성코드를 진단 및 치료를 지원하고 있으며, 방화벽(Firewall) 제품 등 다양한 보안제품을 서비스하고 있는 것으로 보입니다.
현재 등록된 테스터(Tester)를 통해 클로즈 베타(Closed Beta) 방식으로 신버전 준비를 하고 있으며, 새롭게 추가되거나 향상된 기능은 다음과 같습니다.

소개된 기술을 보면 게임모드(Game Mode)와 같은 시스템 최적화된 보안제품과 루트킷(Rootkit) 진단 기술 도입을 통한 강력한 진단 기능을 제공하는 것이 인상적입니다.
저 역시 해당 제품을 과거 몇 년 사용을 하였지만, 국내 포털 사이트 즐겨찾기 진단이나 국내에서 제작된 악성코드에 대한 대응 미흡 등은 다소 미흡한 것이 사실로 보였습니다.
하지만 이런 문제도 해당 제품을 사용하시는 사용자가 악성코드 신고를 하신다면 잘 해결되는 문제가 아닐까 생각합니다.
특히 개인 사용자에게 무료로 제공되는 서비스와 1일 단위 업데이트를 지원하는만큼 사용하시는 분들은 신버전이 나오시면 사용하시기 바랍니다.
